Introducing my new course–

The Art of the Storypreneur

Are you someone who’s aware that your brand, content marketing, social networking, live speaking and events could greatly benefit from a creative, storytelling approach, but who doesn’t know where to begin?

Do you think you’re not the “creative type” and so not well-suited to becoming a storyteller?

Or are you someone who is already putting storytelling principles into play in your business or organization, but who’d like to learn how to stir the creative juices even more?

Either way, no more worries.

The Art of the Storypreneur is for anyone who wants to energize the story of his or her business or organization with the power of great storytelling.

This is the course that will help transform you from a mere marketer into a masterful story creator who moves the hearts and minds of your tribe.

What are the main things you will learn in this course?

  • how storytelling functions in a modern business or organizational setting
  • how to create a digital media channel which will serve as the platform of your storytelling efforts
  • the principles of storytelling for any genre of both non-fiction and fiction
  • how to apply those principles in the creation of your own original story content, in which you will be aided by me, Dr. Daniel McInerny

As you see, we’re not going to focus on borrowing other people’s stories; my aim is to help you become a story creator yourself, so that you will have the habitual ability to bring compelling stories into every aspect of your endeavor.

That’s what I mean by the “art of the storypreneur.”

Your Guide: Dr. Daniel McInerny, CEO of The Comic Muse

You’ll be guided through this course by an experienced story creator. Besides my work here at The Comic Muse, I’m also the CEO of Trojan Tub Entertainment, a children’s entertainment company, which features my humorous Kingdom of Patria series for middle grade readers.

And I also write fiction for adults. Here’s a link to my comic novel, High Concepts: A Hollywood Nightmare.

At the same time, I’m also an experienced teacher and scholar of the art of storytelling. I hold a PhD in philosophy and taught for many years at various universities in the United States. I have also published articles in academic journals on the art of narrative.

You can find out more about me here. And you can get a sense of my approach to storytelling and business by visiting The Comic Muse blog.

Course Format

This course will be an email-based course, with one email lesson–plus homework!–appearing in your Inbox each week for 9 weeks.

You will also receive two supplemental videos via the course’s private YouTube Channel in which I expand on key concepts. (Creation of YouTube account required, but it’s free.)

But The Art of the Storypreneur will also be an interactive experience. We will have our own Google+ community, where students will interact with one another and with me. This aspect of the course will be especially useful when I help you create two original stories. But you’ll also receive the enormous benefit of being able to talk with other students in the course, learning from their experience and building important professional relationships. (Creation of Google+ account required, but it’s free.)

Pacing

As I mentioned, course emails will be delivered once per week, with the first course email delivered no more than 48 hours after the course reaches its minimum capacity (see note on this below).

All course units contain homework assignments. These assignments can remain private to you, shared in our Google+ community, or shared with me via email. There’s no grading of these assignments. Their aim is simply to help you put into action the principles I discuss in each unit.

The pace of the emails is intended not to overwhelm you. But you are certainly not obligated to digest a particular course unit and complete the homework before the next email arrives. The pace at which you undertake the course is entirely at your discretion, even though from the date of the course launch you will receive an email (and in certain weeks, a supplemental video) once a week for 9 weeks.

Cost

The cost of the course is $225, payable once, and with a full money-back guarantee.

However, subscribers to The Comic Muse email Newsletter can sign up for the course at a $25 discount. Their cost is only $200. Sign up for the newsletter today on the homepage of The Comic Muse. Then, email me at [email protected] and, presto, I’ll email you back your exclusive discount enrollment form.

And one more thing.

Enroll in the course before midnight (EST) on Friday, July 19, 2013, and you’ll receive a free, half-hour, phone or Skype consultation with me, Daniel McInerny. In this one-on-one mind-meld, we’ll be able to talk more specifically about the challenges you’re facing in becoming a successful storypreneur. This half-hour consultation will be available to you throughout the duration of the course.

Minimum Capacity

Be advised: the course will not run until there at least 12 students enrolled, so bring a friend and feel most free to pass the word along your social networks.

The date on which the twelfth student enrolls will be considered the date of the course launch, and emails will be sent to course participants no more than 48 hours after this date.

All course fees will be fully refunded if the course does not meet minimum capacity.
