Great to have you here at The Comic Muse.

What struck me about the Caribou approach on their coffee bag was they had the right instinct: to tell a story. But then there was no follow-through. It may well be the tickbox syndrome. I like the phrase.

All the best,
Daniel

I’m glad you found your here via Karen Dietz’s generosity. I hope this post, and others here on the blog, help your friend tell his story more effectively. Let me know if there is any way further I can help.

All the best,

The Caribou story typifies the ‘tickbox syndrome’ of both digital and offline storytelling – “we know we NEED to tell a story…” – but it simply becomes yet another, as you put it, ‘blah blah blah’ statement. ]]> By: ozzie.gontang https://thecomicmuse.com/the-more-or-less-daily-muse/dont-promise-us-a-story-and-then-not-deliver/#comment-524 Fri, 21 Jun 2013 05:42:53 +0000 https://thecomicmuse.com/?p=1276#comment-524 Just want to thank @Karen Dietz for introducing me to the Comic Muse. Appreciate the points about specific who, what, where, why along with sense of conflict. Will be sharing with a friend who 18 years ago went bankrupt and decided that it was his lack of knowing the numbers that did him in. Today his company teaches companies on-line how their knowledge of their numbers being applied to their perspective roles in the company can save thousands to hundreds of thousands of dollars that drop to the bottom line. He hasn’t brought the bankruptcy into his story. I’m sure after we talk, he will.

Again, thanks for your sharing!

Respectfully,
Ozzie
